The Diablo Women's Chorale (DWC) is a secular community choir with an aim to spread hope, joy and light–on stage and off.  While we strive for artistic excellence, we welcome singers with varying musical backgrounds and skill sets.  DWC performs music with a focus on inspiring and uplifting contemporary repertoire from the pop, jazz, and folk idioms.  DWC is open to women, women-identified, non-binary, and gender-fluid singers.  DWC does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, religious or cultural practices, sexual orientation, age, or physical ability.

Our Director – Erin Fishler

Erin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area surrounded by music.  She started performing at a very early age singing and doing voice over work for national television commercials.

Erin earned a Masters of Jazz Vocal Studies from Northern Illinois University.  She started her private teaching studio when she was twenty years old.  Since that time she has taught hundreds of students in Iowa, Chicago, Illinois, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition to a thriving teaching career, Erin has also worked as a professional vocalist and keyboard player for the last sixteen years performing in Chicago and with local Bay Area musicians.  She recently recorded backing vocals on a track of the Grammy nominated album, “With Love” by Miami arranger Jeremy Fox.

Our Accompanist – Rebecca Hass

Rebecca Hass is a pianist, composer, educator, and creative coach in the San Francisco Bay Area whose biggest passion is Brazilian music. Her debut Brazilian album of original compositions and arrangement, Florescer (Bloom), was described as “a delightful 43 minutes of musical sunshine”, and her latest album of original piano music, Bright Little Worlds, “demonstrates her versatility as a composer as well as her very expressive playing style.”

Rebecca also has extensive experience as a collaborative pianist in a variety of styles, working with classical and jazz performers, musical theater companies, groups, and movement artists, including Berkeley Choro Ensemble, Echo Chamber Orchestra, Bella Musica, Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choirs, and Opera on Tap SF.

She was also a longtime member of the Minneapolis Brazilian percussion group Batucada do Norte, and a founding member of the Modern Spark Trio, a piano trio with diverse repertoire.

As a curious human, she is always designing new practices for herself, her students, and her creative coaching clients.
