Small Ensemble Meets Acclaimed Artist

Singer / composer Moira Smiley travels the world creating new works for voices and accompanying her performances with her banjo, accordion, piano, and percussive movement. Her recordings feature spare, vocally driven collections of warped traditional songs and original polyphony.

Moira’s voice and compositions have been featured in TED conferences, on BBC Radio and TV, NPR, ABC Australia, and live at venues from Lincoln Center to the Royal Festival Hall.

Members Anne Morris, Kappy Lindquist and Hildy DeFrisco were in the audience at Moira’s guest appearance with Peia Luzzi at a concert in Santa Cruz. We had a chance to talk to her about her music and our concert – and she kindly posed with us for a photo. What a wonderful evening!
