
An accompanist and performer in multiple genres, from St. Paul, Minnesota, REBECCA HASS has extensive experience as an accompanist for classical performers, musical theater classes, competitions, and other groups that include choral accompanying for churches, the Prelude Singer-Actor Performance Lab at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, and the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts.
Rebecca's interests extend to many types of music, including jazz, classical, and pop, but her biggest passion is Brazilian music. Her compositions span a variety of topics, from samba grooves to crime-fighting manatees, which you can hear on her debut album of original compositions and arrangements in Brazilian styles, “Florescer (Bloom).” She was also a longtime member of the Minneapolis Brazilian percussion group Batucada do Norte and is a founding member of the Modern Spark Trio, a piano trio with diverse repertoire.
In addition, Rebecca is a creative wellness coach who supports other musicians and artists in their creative habits, helping them live more balanced lives via small, impactful changes. She co-hosts the podcast Being a Whole Person, a podcast for creative entrepreneurs, spirituality, and self-care, and writes about wellness and creativity, providing resources for fellow musicians and creatives on her website (rebeccahass.com).
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano with a concentration in art history and anthropology from Ithaca College, and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through MTNA. She is also a member of the American Composers Forum and the Minnesota Music Coalition.
