Born in San Francisco, AMY LEVINE is a pianist, teacher and songwriter. She started playing piano by ear by the time she was 3 years old and at age seven she started classical training with pianist Marion Winkler. In high school she joined the jazz band and experimented with R&B and Funk in other bands in the community.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts studying Music and Sociology at San Francisco State University. After graduation she continued performing in the Bay Area with various groups like the Bay Area original hip hop band 75 Degrees, sharing the same bill with The Roots, Digital Underground, The Pharcyde, and Common.
Amy found her niche teaching piano and loves helping others reach their music goals. She teaches private piano lessons to both adults and children at her studio in Oakland and at Bananas at Large in San Rafael and continues performing in many different genres such as jazz, latin, classical, R&B, funk, rock, and pop. She has been the DWC accompanist since the fall of 2018.
